Doxy PEP
Taking the antibiotic doxycycline within 72 hours after sex can help some people reduce the chances of getting sexually transmitted infections (STI). This is called "doxy PEP."
It is a morning-after pill for STIs. Studies have shown that taking DoxyPEP reduces your chance of getting syphilis and chlamydia by about two-thirds, especially if you are a transgender woman (TGW) or a man who has sex with men (MSM).

PEP
Is a treatment to prevent infection after potential exposure to HIV. It involves taking antiretroviral medicines as soon as possible after exposure to reduce the chance of infection.
PEP should ideally be started within hours of exposure for maximum effectiveness. The sooner it is started, the better the chances of preventing HIV infection. PEP should be taken within 72 hours after potential exposure. After this period, the likelihood of preventing HIV infection decreases significantly.
After completing a 28-day course of PEP, it is recommended to get tested to confirm your HIV status. If the test result is negative, consider starting PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) as a preventive measure against HIV infection.

Testing - Lab
Once your appointment with our technician is complete, we will send a testing kit directly to your home. The test is designed to be quick and easy. All necessary instructions will be included in the package. After you collect the samples, simply return the kit using the prepaid priority mail envelope provided.
Since we are an online service, we primarily recommend using the testing kit. It is easy, quick, and allows you to test from the comfort of your own space. However, you can also consult with our technician for alternative options if needed.
Please note that opting for a different type of service instead of the testing kit will require an out-of-pocket payment.
Telehealth
Yes, a Telehealth appointment is often required to obtain PrEP, as it allows our providers to assess your eligibility, discuss your medical history, and provide necessary prescriptions.
The time it takes to get your Telehealth appointment to obtain your PrEP will depend on you. If you complete the registration process, do the screening, and receive and send the testing kit back, your Telehealth appointment should be scheduled a couple of days after we receive the kit. The entire process may take about 5 days or less, depending on how quickly we receive the testing kit back from you.
It will be just a quick call, about 10 minutes or less, to go over your labs with your doctor and prescribe your PrEP.
The doctor will write the prescription as soon as you finish your Telehealth appointment, and he will send it right away to the pharmacy to complete the process and have the medication sent to you.
Cost - Insurance
Most insurance plans cover PrEP, under the affordable care Act also PRIME for PrEP partners with community based organizations to offer all clinical services associated with PrEP at no cost. The majority of PRIME for PrEP patients are able to receive their PrEP Prescription for FREE as well through their health insurance.

Pharmacy - Delivery
PRIME for PrEP collaborates with community service organizations and pharmacies to provide free PrEP services with a network of dedicated partners. We ensure you receive your prescription seamlessly. Our goal is to deliver the highest quality of service for your comfort and convenience.
Your package will be delivered discreetly with no branding or indication of its content. Our pharmacists will work closely with you to ensure your prescription is tailored to your specific needs and delivered in a manner that respects your privacy.
Security / Privacy
Prime for PrEP takes your privacy seriously and adheres to federal standards to ensure that safety and security of your information. Your confidentiality is our top priority.
Renewal information
Prescriptions are issued for a duration of 90 days. 21 days before your prescription expires, our technician will contact you to ensure you receive your new testing package and facilitate the renewal process. All from the comfort of your home.
